BABA OLU

FOUNDER, KIIRE WELLNESS

A.K.A. Oludare, which means, “God gives me the sanction to LIVE!”

is a Balogun (Priest of Ogun), Aponni (Music Healing Ceremonial Leader), Omo Anya (Sacred Healing Drummer), Dancer and Author of Breathing With Orisha. He is a #RespiratoryActivist and believes in #RESPARATIONS- a spin off of reparations that includes the freedom and time for African Descendants to practice intentional healing through the breath, song and movements of their own ancestral lineages. Through Kìire Wellness, Oludaré brings this message to the world in a tangible, online, family friendly format. He teaches private and public chair breathing, dance, song, and music workshops that help to culturally restore African descendants while strengthening their physical and spiritual health. His work is dedicated to promoting wellness in African Descendant communities- and it all starts with the Breath.

DANCE

Originally trained by his mother, Iyalorisha Amma Oloriwaa!, his Father Baba Canute Bernard Jr. Ibaye, and La Mora, the Prima Balerina of Ballet Folklórico Cutumba de Santiago, OluDaré has garnered a sacred understanding of the Orisha Dances. Always studying, and learning from his elders, OluDaré continues to bridge the gap between tradition and the youth of today by sharing his knowledge in public schools and universities. These dances were left behind to do more than simply entertain the masses. They were left behind to help heal African Descendant Peoples. He believes in learning Afro-holistic movement with the intention of healing and finding joy! He is a #RespiratoryActivist and believes that African Descendants especially need to practice intentional healing breath. Through Kìire Wellness, Oludaré brings this message and practice to the world in a tangible, online, family friendly format that teaches Orisha movement and singing, two forms of sacred ancestral respiratory practice.

SONG & DRUM

Olu Daré is an Omo Anya (Child of Anya, or child of the drum) who has studied the art of drumming from the time he was 3 years old. His Father Baba Canute Bernard jr. Ibaye passed down his knowledge to not only OluDaré, but also many people who wished to study the art of Anya. OluDaré is a student of the drum always. In this way he never stops learning, growing and expanding as a percussionist and educator.

As an Aponni (Leader of the ceremonial singing of Orisha) OluDaré continues the legacy of his mother, Iya Amma Oloriwaa!, Founder, Director and Youth Development Coach at Egbe Iwa Odo Kunrin*Binrin inc. Under her guidance as a mother, business woman, spiritual leader, mentor, community activist and SINGER! Oludaré learned to sharpen his skills, focus on his opportunities, and beware of the downfalls of the path. Today he has shared his gifts all around the world- the gift she gave him- singing to the Orisha, lives everywhere he goes.
